Meet Our Passionate Artists

Deborah Porter
Canadian born, Deborah Porter, suffered from a severe brain injury over a decade ago. This left her disabled in many ways, much of which were invisible to others. Through sheer determination, she used arts and crafts as a form of therapy, spending literally hundreds – if not thousands, of hours working to regain so much of what she had lost.
Being someone who loves to learn, she has tried her hands at many different mediums, techniques, and materials. She will be showing a variety of pieces she has created over the years, including weaving, beading, encaustic wax, acrylics, and tin work.
Deborah finds it difficult to call herself an artist, but rather a survivor who loves to play with colours, textures, techniques and materials and who always does her best to encourage others to have a go.
